Candy Apple Jelly

Today I made Candy Apple Jelly

SOOO PRETTY AND YUMMY!

If you are going to make this I just suggest making 2 batches. Here is why 2 batches of jam will use a 4lb bag of sugar, 64 oz of apple juice, 2 boxes of red hots, 2 boxes of pectin. And 12 jars no left overs plus it is rumored to go very fast. It is an apple jelly with a kick of cinnamon. It reminds me of Christmas. Here is the recipe which I got from allrecipes.com LIKE WITH ALL JAMS AND JELLIES DO NOT DOUBLE THE BATCH!!! IT WILL NOT SET!!!

  • 4 cups apple juice
  • 1/2 cup red-hot candies
  • 1 (1.75 ounce) package powdered fruit pectin
  • 4 1/2 cups sugar

In a large kettle, combine apple juice, candies and pectin. Bring to a full rolling boil over high heat, stirring constantly. Stir in sugar; return to a full rolling boil. Boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from the heat; skim off any foam and undissolved candies. Pour hot liquid into hot jars, leaving 1/4-in. headspace. Adjust caps. Process for 5 minutes in a boiling-water bath.

It is already a big hit with the kids and they just got to sample it.

Sorry about the delay..

UGH so sorry about not keeping up with the blog. With un packing and everything. It has been long and drawn out. Let see we had to make a table so we had something to eat at. We are very set in our way when it comes to eating as a family. Total cost for everything is including paint for the chairs was about $150.

We have also built our garden boxes for our garden. Which we will plant this weekend.

So far we LOVE O.K. we have been here just over a month and we truly LOVE it here. I have to say out of everywhere we have lived this is the first place we have LOVED! We are very excited. Dan's job is going great. He is making the kind of money we didn't think we would ever have. Not it is just the matter of catching up with everything and putting money away. I am considering getting a job in the fall. And putting Ty in pre-K. I just want to enjoy the summer break with the kids. Speaking of the kids they are doing great. They love it here as well. They have friends down the street. That come over and play everyday. So that is all that is going on here in O.K.

BUTTER

So I made home made butter with the ninja.. It is not very cost effective to make it. But it is very very good if you find cream on sale. Or you just like the taste. I would like to find some unprocessed cream and try to make some butter with that. I will keep using homemade butter for my toast and what not. But As far as cooking goes I will most use butter bought at the store. It is healthier then margarine so we are making an improvement there.
